Pregnancy has been rough. Not the sunshine and rainbows I expected. Despite the hospital visits, IVs, extreme nausea, and endless naps I cannot wait for my sweet baby girl to arrive. She's so worth it and I haven't even met her yet. She's a mover and loves it when I eat spicy foods and chocolate...at least that's what I keep telling myself.
M. has been my angel. Words cannot thank him enough what an amazing nurse and hubby he has been for me. From making me delicious snacks, letting me sleep and sleep, to cleaning and cooking and taking in ALL the groceries. I truly married a "keeper". It's made my heart so happy too to see how he's also prepared for the little beasty in his own way. He's going to be one amazing Dad.

This last week I might have overdone it a bit. Our kind friends invited us to join them in their lava tour on Thursday. Little did I know the temperature would be 90 degrees plus with HIGH humidity, the trail would be 6 miles long (mud, obstacles, etc.) and my choice of apparel wouldn't be ideal. I decided to dress light and cool - meaning workout gear and running shoes. In hindsight I should have worn my hiking boots, long sleeves, and long pants to avoid the bugs, knee high mud, and poky branches. All good fun though, live and learn! This tour group is the only group to take you all the way to the lava, and I mean all the way. Standing a foot from flowing, molten, 2000 degree hot lava can be more "warm" then you'd think. Our marshmallows were done in seconds.
What surprised me the most was how thick the lava was when you lifted it up with a stick. The movies portray it almost like water but it's so slow moving and heavy. My respect for this amazing process grew immensely as we watched it bubble and flow. A truly amazing and once in a lifetime opportunity!
It took me about a day to get walking normally again. The hike really took a toll on my hips and lower back. Now I'm feeling just fine though, so proud of myself in accomplishing such a feat 23 weeks pregnant. #fitpregnancy

I finally got up the nerve to show off my now showing baby bump. Here it is folks. All my life I tried to stay "fit and lean" so gaining these pounds, even though I needed too and it's mostly baby, have been kinda tough. It's a switch to look in the mirror and see a belly but I do adore it so!
I'm finally feeling human these days now. I eat lots of fruits and veggies, love my spicy Cheetos, and still take long naps. I'm told I need to savour these while I can! Sleeping has become a whole new ballgame though, as I never slept on my side prior. Frequent trips to the beach and dips in the cool water have been a lifesaver as it's been record breakingly hot here lately.
I'm so grateful for this amazing roller coaster I'm on and the great companion I have along with me. I couldn't do it without the cute guy!
Thanks to all the love and support from our family and friends back home and here on the Big Island. We are truly blessed and thank the Lord everyday for his goodness.
