Luna is growing up so fast we can hardly stand it. She's an absolute joy and light in our life. Already five months old and a few weeks, she's rolling all on her own, standing supported, and working on balancing sitting by herself. She loves to squawk and chat all day long and has the most infectious laugh and smile. I may be biased, but she's absolutely gorgeous!
She also adores the beach, which we are very pleased about. As long as the water isn't freezing cold she's all in.
Recently we just started solids and it's been hilarious watching her try new foods. Currently she loves mashed Apple banana and sweet potato. She aggressively goes after the spoon each time and tries to feed herself, but mostly just ends up gagging herself because she puts the spoon too far down her poor throat. Don't worry, she's supervised carefully during these self feeding moments.
Our new challenge currently is bedtime. She has a hard time not waking herself up throughout the night with her flailing arms and legs. According to some it's a phase after swaddling is stopped - we just recently stopped swaddling her each night. Fingers crossed the phase phases out soon. Any tips are appreciated! ❤️

You may ask, why "The Salad Days"? It's actually a Shakespearean idiomatic expression that refers to youthful time and enthusiasm. You know me, I love a good Shakespeare reference or quote. Each day is an adventure and brings a new challenge and achievement. Each day, for me, has not felt so fulfilling as it does now. I go to bed exhausted, covered in spit up, and thirsty but I wouldn't trade it for anything. My favorite thing is when my cheeks are sore at the end of the day from laughing and smiling with my little family. I thank my Heavenly Father for these precious blessings and tender moments! ❤️
Oh, almost forgot to mention Miles and I finally had a DATE night! We went to a art night at the local gallery and painted with some friends! It was great fun but so hard to leave Luna. She was in great hands, and I promised myself I wouldn't be one of "those" Moms, but boy was it tough! We all survived though and had a terrific night! ❤️
