Today was the first non-rainy day (seriously - kid you not). Naturally we had to take advantage of it. We took out our new retro bikes and rode around beautiful Hilo seeing all the sights. Gratefully Hilo is a lot less "hilly" than good old Bountiful so biking is MUCH more enjoyable. We visited Kamehameha Park that includes beautiful Asian style bridges and the statue of the great Hawaiian King and found the local snorkeling hot spot called Ice Pond (we didn't get made fun of this time).
Finally we made our way to the all famous Ken's Pancake House - one of the best known diners in Hilo. It was pretty tasty . . .however, the highlight of the meal was making fun of M.'s hair after snorkeling. It's getting so long and curly.

Gratefully we made it home without getting rained on - a total miracle. We're so grateful for our new home and, every day, can't believe it's beauty.
*Fun Facts About Hilo*
-The rain is hot and misty . . .most of the time. Other times it pours.
-There are lizards of every variety and mongoose everywhere (mongoose look like ferrets but have different tails). They are darling.
-Every variety of SPAM you could think of is in the grocery store.
-Yes milk is $6.00 a gallon, however we've replaced it with delicious guava juice.
-Hawaii has the most amazing tropical yogurt - guava, leeche, mango, etc.
-Coqui frogs sing you to sleep . . .it's more like radar pings though.
-The construction signs on the side of the road remind you to "Drive Aloha".
Hilo is SO different, but we absolutely love it!
We miss you Utah . . .but we've Gone Surfing!
